How's it going?! So we are a wedding photography duo who love living by the sea along with our two fluff butts, Nala & Hope. We are based in Carnoustie but shoot worldwide. We have been doing this bloody wonderful job for 5 years now and we absolutely love it. Travelling is such a passion for us so we don't restrict ourselves to photographing in one specific area. We spend a lot of our time in the Scottish Highlands - its basically our second home! Its safe to say adventures are our jam!
So, heads up - before our name became Rachel & Tonie - we were called Rachel McNeil Photography. You might still see the old name floating around as the change is quite new!
Hello! I’m Rachel. So lets start with how we got here.. I started this business after graduating fine art in 2014. It was a no brainer. I did a couple weddings for friends and just fell in love with it all. I constantly have pinch me moments with this job and I cant say enough how much I appreciate all couples who put their trust in us to capture their day. You are all top notch babes.
I love my cats more than what is probably deemed acceptable. Music is pretty much ALWAYS playing in our house, whether its Korn or Vance Joy - i’m sure our neighbours love us! I got my first camera when I was 14 and have carried one around with me at all times since. I cry at cute dogs and will happily quote Hot Fuzz if you ask me to.
I love being creative and going on adventures with my best beardy pal. We make a pretty great team if I do say so myself.
Hi! I’m Tonie. So I didn't do fine art… I did pretty much the complete opposite! I graduated in Engineering Management and sure as hell did not think I would end up as a wedding photographer. I was introduced to the world of photography by Rachel when we first met many moons ago. This lead me down a path of researching everything I could about photography, past and present, to finally learn I had found my passion in life. I suppose I have the ginge to thank for that.
I’m currently obsessed with renovating our new house, which is pretty much a never ending job, but me and Sam from Screwfix are great friends now. I get far too excited when I see a bird of prey and make a mean chicken fried rice (veggie alternative included). Heavy metal is always my go to on Spotify and I love ruining a long walk by trying to play golf.
